Certainly, to Allâh belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. Surely, He knows your condition and (He knows) the Day when they will be brought back to Him, then He will inform them of what they did. And Allâh is All-Knower of everything.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 64) ➊ { اَلَاۤ اِنَّ لِلّٰهِ مَا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ :} Tabari said: “Allah Almighty says, remember, all the heavens and the earth belong to Allah Almighty, and it is not befitting for the owned to disobey the command of their Owner and become deserving of His punishment. He says, O people! In the same way, it is not right for you to violate the command of your Lord, Who is your Owner, so obey Him, act upon His command, and when you are present with His Messenger in any collective matter, do not leave without his permission.” (Tabari: 26476)
{قَدْ يَعْلَمُ مَاۤ اَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ :} That is, whatever way you are upon, whether good or bad, Allah Almighty certainly knows it.
{ وَ يَوْمَ يُرْجَعُوْنَ اِلَيْهِ …:} By informing is meant giving them the recompense of their deeds. After addressing the hypocrites, mentioning them in the third person is a rhetorical shift, which expresses displeasure.
{وَ اللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ :} This is the completion of the subject of {’’ قَدْ يَعْلَمُ مَاۤ اَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ ‘‘}; previously, only the knowledge of the hypocrites’ conditions was mentioned, now it is said that He not only knows your conditions but is fully aware of everything.
