سُوْرَةُ النُّوْرِ
Surah An-Noor (24) — Ayah 59
وَإِذَا بَلَغَ ٱلْأَطْفَـٰلُ مِنكُمُ ٱلْحُلُمَ فَلْيَسْتَـْٔذِنُوا۟ كَمَا ٱسْتَـْٔذَنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ ﴿59﴾
Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
And when the children among you come to puberty, then let them (also) ask for permission, as those senior to them (in age). Thus Allâh makes clear His Ayât (Commandments and legal obligations) for you. And Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

(Ayah 59){ وَ اِذَا بَلَغَ الْاَطْفَالُ مِنْكُمُ الْحُلُمَ فَلْيَسْتَاْذِنُوْا …:} After reaching puberty, it is also necessary for children to seek permission, just as it is necessary for those people who were mentioned earlier in Ayah (27) {’’ لَا تَدْخُلُوْا بُيُوْتًا غَيْرَ بُيُوْتِكُمْ حَتّٰى تَسْتَاْنِسُوْا ‘‘}, and just as other adults before these children who reach puberty have been seeking permission, after reaching puberty, they too must always enter after seeking permission. Ata bin Yasar says that I asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them): "Should I also seek permission to go to my sister?" He replied: "Yes!" I repeated the question: "I have two sisters in my care, their expenses are my responsibility, should I also go to them after seeking permission?" He replied: "Yes! Would you like to see them in a state of undress?" Then he recited this verse: «{ يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لِيَسْتَاْذِنْكُمُ الَّذِيْنَ مَلَكَتْ اَيْمَانُكُمْ }» [ النور : ۵۸ ] {’’ثَلٰثُ عَوْرٰتٍ لَّكُمْ ‘‘} up to this point, so those people were only commanded to seek permission at these three times, then he said: «{ وَ اِذَا بَلَغَ الْاَطْفَالُ مِنْكُمُ الْحُلُمَ فَلْيَسْتَاْذِنُوْا }» [ النور : ۵۹ ] Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: "Now seeking permission is obligatory." [ الأدب المفرد للبخاري : ۱۰۶۳ ]
