Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 61) {اُولٰٓىِٕكَيُسٰرِعُوْنَفِيالْخَيْرٰتِ …:} That is, these people who possess these four qualities are the ones who hasten to do good deeds and they are the ones who surpass others in attaining them. (See Surah Al-Waqi'ah: 10 to 26) Tabari has narrated with a good chain of narration from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding {’’ وَهُمْلَهَاسٰبِقُوْنَ ‘‘}, he says: {’’سَبَقَتْلَهُمُالسَّعَادَةُ‘‘} "That is, because of these four qualities of theirs (which are already in Allah's knowledge), the good fortune of attaining good deeds quickly has already been decreed for them." As if this is synonymous with the verse: « اِنَّالَّذِيْنَسَبَقَتْلَهُمْمِّنَّاالْحُسْنٰۤىاُولٰٓىِٕكَعَنْهَامُبْعَدُوْنَ»[ الأنبیاء : ۱۰۱ ] "Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] from Us has already gone forth, they will be kept far removed from it."
