Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 34){ وَ لَىِٕنْ اَطَعْتُمْ بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ … :} In Surah Qamar, observe the words filled with contempt regarding the same people’s Salih (peace be upon him), it is said: «{ فَقَالُوْۤا اَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَاحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهٗۤ اِنَّاۤ اِذًا لَّفِيْ ضَلٰلٍ وَّ سُعُرٍ (24) ءَاُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْۢ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ اَشِرٌ [ القمر : ۲۴، ۲۵ ] “So they said, ‘Shall we follow a single man from among ourselves? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. Has the reminder been sent down to him alone from among us? Rather, he is a great liar, an arrogant one.’” The chiefs, proud of their wealth and status, when they saw their leadership in danger, accepted disgrace in this world and the Hereafter, but despite witnessing countless signs, did not accept faith in the Messenger and did not accept to follow him. Among the calamities of leadership, this is the greatest calamity. May Allah protect from it.
