Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 4){ قٰلَ رَبِّيْ يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ … :} That is, in response, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that the matter you have decided in secret consultation is not hidden from my Lord. He knows everything that happens in the heavens and the earth, because He is also the All-Hearing and the All-Knowing. Here, instead of {’’يَعْلَمُ السِّرَّ‘‘} (He knows the hidden thing), Allah Almighty said {’’ يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ ‘‘}, meaning He knows everything, your secret whispers as well as your loud conversations. Therefore, these secret gatherings or open opposition against His Prophet will be of no use to you, and you will not be able to stop the dominance of Islam in any way. In one recitation, it is {’’ قُلْ رَّبِّي‘‘}, meaning say that my Lord knows everything that happens in the heavens and the earth.
