Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 100) ➊ For the meaning of {لَهُمْ فِيْهَا زَفِيْرٌ : ’’ زَفِيْرٌ ‘‘}, see Surah Hud (106).
{ وَ هُمْ فِيْهَا لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ:} One explanation of this is that they will bray like donkeys in such a loud voice that in the noise of their screaming and wailing, nothing will be heard. Another explanation was given by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): when only those remain who are to be kept in the Fire forever, they will be placed in coffins of fire, which will have nails of fire, so none of them will see that anyone else is being punished besides himself. Then Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: «{ لَهُمْ فِيْهَا زَفِيْرٌ وَّ هُمْ فِيْهَا لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ. Ibn Kathir, quoting Ibn Abi Hatim. Dr. Hikmat bin Basheer graded its chain as Hasan. Thus, along with the torment of the Fire, there will be the severe torment of loneliness, that they will neither see anyone nor hear any voice.
