Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 55){ مِنْهَاخَلَقْنٰكُمْوَفِيْهَانُعِيْدُكُمْ … :} That is, the figure of your father Adam (peace be upon him) was made from clay, and your food and all necessities also come out of the earth. This is the first stage, which continues until death. The second stage is that after death you will return to the earth again; whether a person is buried in a grave or not, directly or indirectly, his components will go into the earth. In the third stage, on the Day of Resurrection, these same components will be revived by breathing the soul into them again. It is said: «{ قَالَفِيْهَاتَحْيَوْنَوَفِيْهَاتَمُوْتُوْنَوَمِنْهَاتُخْرَجُوْنَ }»[ الأعراف : ۲۵ ] "He said: In it you will live, and in it you will die, and from it you will be brought forth." In some narrations, it is mentioned to recite {’’ مِنْهَاخَلَقْنٰكُمْ ‘‘} when throwing the first handful of soil at the time of burial, {’’ وَفِيْهَانُعِيْدُكُمْ ‘‘} when throwing the second handful, and {’’ وَمِنْهَانُخْرِجُكُمْتَارَةًاُخْرٰى ‘‘} when throwing the third handful, but those narrations are weak. However, throwing three handfuls of soil without reciting any verse is Sunnah. It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): [ أَنَّرَسُوْلَاللّٰهِصَلَّیاللّٰهُعَلَيْهِوَسَلَّمَصَلّٰیعَلٰیجِنَازَةٍثُمَّأَتٰیقَبْرَالْمَيِّتِفَحَثٰیعَلَيْهِمِنْقِبَلِرَأْسِهٖثَلاَثًا ][ ابن ماجہ، الجنائز، باب ما جاء في حثو التراب في القبر: ۱۵۶۵، صحیح ] "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer over a deceased person, then came to the grave of the deceased and threw three handfuls (of soil) from the side of his head."
