Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 42) ➊ { اِذْهَبْاَنْتَوَاَخُوْكَبِاٰيٰتِيْ :} This is the purpose for which Musa (peace be upon him) was raised in the house of Pharaoh and then in Madyan. Since at that time Harun (peace be upon him) was not present there, Musa (peace be upon him) was commanded to take him along after reaching Egypt. {’’ بِاٰيٰتِيْ ‘‘} That is, you will not go to Pharaoh empty-handed, rather My signs—the staff and the shining hand—will be with you, so go without hesitation and convey My message.
➋ {وَلَاتَنِيَافِيْذِكْرِيْ : ’’ لَاتَنِيَا ‘‘ ’’وَنٰييَنِيْوَنْيًا‘‘} On the pattern of {’’وَعَدَيَعِدُ‘‘}, meaning to be lazy, negligent, or to become weary. That is, do not be negligent in My remembrance; this will strengthen your resolve and keep your steps firm, because when you remember Me, My countless great favors will remain before you, which will prevent any weakness in fulfilling the mission of prophethood. (Tabari) Allah Almighty has also commanded us to remember Him abundantly when facing the enemy (see Al-Anfal: 45) and has praised those who remember Him in every situation and called them {’’اُولُواالْاَلْبَابِ ‘‘ }. See Surah Al-Imran (190).
