Surah Taa-Haa (20) — Ayah 10

إِذْ رَءَا نَارًا فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ ٱمْكُثُوٓا۟ إِنِّىٓ ءَانَسْتُ نَارًا لَّعَلِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِقَبَسٍ أَوْ أَجِدُ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ هُدًى ﴿10﴾
When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire."
إِذْ idh When
رَءَا raā he saw
نَارًۭا nāran a fire
فَقَالَ faqāla then he said
لِأَهْلِهِ li-ahlihi to his family
ٱمْكُثُوٓا۟ um'kuthū Stay here
إِنِّىٓ innī indeed, I
ءَانَسْتُ ānastu [I] perceived
نَارًۭا nāran a fire
لَّعَلِّىٓ laʿallī perhaps I (can)
ءَاتِيكُم ātīkum bring you
مِّنْهَا min'hā therefrom
بِقَبَسٍ biqabasin a burning brand
أَوْ aw or
أَجِدُ ajidu I find
عَلَى ʿalā at
ٱلنَّارِ l-nāri the fire
هُدًۭى hudan guidance
