Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 63) ➊ Allah Almighty created a terrifying scene while taking the covenant from the Children of Israel to act upon the Torah, so that they would make this covenant wholeheartedly. At that time, they were at the foot of the mountain when, with an earthquake, the mountain was uprooted and «وَ اِذْ نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ» leaned over them and cast its shadow over them like a canopy, until they became certain that it was about to fall upon them. See also Surah Al-A'raf (171). This is the tenth blessing, because this covenant and pledge was for their own benefit.
➋ The explanation of { ”مَاۤ اٰتَيْنٰكُمْ“ } has not been given here, but it is mentioned in several places that it means the Book, for example: «{ وَ لَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الْكِتٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُوْنَ [ المؤمنون : ۴۹ ] "And indeed, We gave Musa the Book, so that they might be guided."
➌ By { ”بِقُوَّةٍ“ } (holding firmly) it is meant that you should act upon it. (Musnad ‘Abd bin Humaid from Mujahid)
