Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 276) ➊ {يَمْحَقُ اللّٰهُ الرِّبٰوا:} That is, no matter how much the wealth from interest appears to increase, in reality it does not increase. It is said: «وَ مَاۤ اٰتَيْتُمْ مِّنْ رِّبًا لِّيَرْبُوَاْ فِيْۤ اَمْوَالِ النَّاسِ فَلَا يَرْبُوْا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ» [الروم : ۳۹ ] “And whatever interest you give so that it may increase in the wealth of people, it does not increase with Allah.” The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “No matter how much interest increases, its end result will be scarcity.” [أحمد : 424/1، ح : ۴۰۲۵، عن ابن مسعود و صححہ محققہ و وافقہ الألبانی فی صحیح ابن ماجہ ]
The reason for this is that Allah does not grant goodness and blessing in wealth gained through interest; thus, the world curses the usurer and in the Hereafter he will receive a punishment that no other criminal will receive. In contrast, Allah increases charity and there is goodness and blessing in it. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever gives charity from pure earnings, even if it is a single date, and Allah accepts only pure wealth, then Allah accepts it with His right hand, then nurtures it for the giver just as one of you raises his foal, until that charity (having grown) becomes like a mountain.”
That is, being wealthy yet not giving a loan to the needy unless interest is charged, this is severe ingratitude for the blessing. (Mawaddih)
