Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah182,181) Changing a will is a major sin, and concealing the will is also included in this. { ”جَنَفًا“ } "Inclining" means if, due to inner inclination towards someone, there is undue favoritism in the will. { ”اَوْ اِثْمًا“ } Or if the will is for an unlawful act, such as serving alcohol, arranging dance, lighting lamps on a grave, or organizing a fair or Urs, then it is necessary to change such a will. One interpretation is that { ”جَنَفًا“ } refers to favoritism due to a mistake or forgetfulness based on inner inclination, and { ”اِثْمًا“ } refers to deliberately depriving someone of their right. {”فَاَصْلَحَ بَيْنَهُمْ“} means to make the heirs understand and reconcile them.
