Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

When the hypocrites, despite harboring disbelief in their hearts and supporting the disbelievers, met with the Muslims, they would say { ”اٰمَنَّا“} and considered it a mockery with the people of faith. In response, Allah Almighty also dealt with them in the same way, deciding regarding them that they would be in the lowest depths of Hell, yet in this world, He declared them as Muslims and gave them respite, so that they may increase more and more in their rebellion. He said: «{ اِنَّمَا نُمْلِيْ لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوْۤا اِثْمًا [ آل عمران : ۱۷۸ ] "We only grant them respite so that they may increase in sin." That was their mockery, this is Allah Almighty's mockery. In the Qur'an, such words have been used in response which are rarely used initially. Included in Allah Almighty's mockery with them is also the event that will happen to the hypocrites on the Day of Resurrection: as they will be going along with the Muslims, seeing the way by their light, suddenly, by a wall, they will be pushed towards Hell.
