And (remember) when Ibrâhîm (Abraham) said, "My Lord, make this city (Makkah) a place of security and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allâh and the Last Day." He (Allâh) answered: "As for him who disbelieves, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the torment of the Fire, and worst indeed is that destination!"

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 126) ➊ Allah Almighty also accepted this supplication of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and made Makkah a city of peace. Now, within the boundaries of the Haram, it is not permissible to shed anyone’s blood, cut its trees, chase away its game, etc., and such abundance of provision has been granted that, despite there being no agriculture in Makkah, fresh fruits from all over the world and every kind of grain are available there in such abundance throughout the year that the acceptance of Ibrahim’s (peace be upon him) supplication is visible to the eyes.
➋ Previously, when Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed for leadership for his descendants, Allah Almighty said that My covenant does not reach the wrongdoers. Now, when Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed for provision, excluding the wrongdoers and asking only for the believers, Allah Almighty said, I will grant worldly provision to the disbelievers as well, but in the Hereafter there is punishment for them. It is thus clear that abundance of provision in this world for anyone is not proof that Allah Almighty is pleased and satisfied with them.
