Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 123,122) The address to the Children of Israel begins by reminding them of Allah’s blessings and warning them about the Day of Resurrection and its terrors. In a continuous sequence of eighty-four (84) verses, along with Allah’s blessings, their acts of disobedience are also mentioned. In the end, once again, they are reminded of Allah’s blessings and warned about the Day of the Hereafter, and it is cautioned that due to the misdeeds mentioned above, they have been deemed unjust, so now the leadership and guidance are being transferred from the Children of Israel to the Children of Ismail, among whom a prophet was prayed for by Ibrahim (peace be upon him) when he was raising the foundations of the Kaaba. The purpose of these verses and all the previous verses is to encourage the People of the Book to believe in the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and to follow him.
