Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 116) Another injustice of those who prevent from Allah’s mosques is mentioned, that they said, Allah has taken a child. Thus, the Jews declared ‘Uzair (peace be upon him) as the son of Allah, and the Christians declared the Messiah (peace be upon him) as the son of Allah. Similarly, the Arab polytheists declared the angels as the daughters of Allah. Allah Almighty refuted this in several ways: first, with {’’ سُبْحٰنَهٗ ‘‘}, that having a child is a sign of need, and Allah is free from this. (See Surah Bani Isra’il: 111) Second, that Allah is the Owner of the heavens and the earth, in which ‘Uzair (peace be upon him), the Messiah (peace be upon him), and the angels are all included. How can the Owner and the owned be father and son! Even if a son becomes the owned of the father, he automatically becomes free. Third, that a son can also rebel, whereas all those who dwell in the heavens and the earth are subject to Allah’s command; even their breath does not move without His order.
