Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 68) ➊ {فَوَرَبِّكَلَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ …:’’ جِثِيًّا ‘‘ ’’جَثَايَجْثُوْجُثُوًّا‘‘} and {’’جَثَييَجْثِيْجُثِيًا‘‘} (n, ḍ) are the verbs from which the active participle {’’جَاثٍ‘‘} ({اَلْجَاثِيْ}), which is the singular form for those who fall on their knees. To convince the deniers of the Resurrection, it is sworn that by your Lord, We will surely gather them and the devils who misled them. The "devils" also include the "Qareen" (see Surah Qaf: 23), as well as the offspring of Iblis and the misleading devils from among humans. See Surah Al-An'am (112). To depict their presence around Hell, it is stated that they will be fallen on their knees around Hell, utterly humiliated, disgraced, and terrified, and they will not have the strength to stand. See Surah Al-Jathiyah (28). ➋ "By your Lord"—there are two benefits in this: first, the emphasis of the statement due to the oath; second, the exaltation of the status of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), just as in Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Ayah (23): « {فَوَرَبِّالسَّمَآءِوَالْاَرْضِاِنَّهٗلَحَقٌّمِّثْلَمَاۤاَنَّكُمْتَنْطِقُوْنَ} », the greatness of the heavens and the earth is being manifested.
