Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 53){ هٰرُوْنَنَبِيًّا :} When Musa (peace be upon him) was granted prophethood, he requested that his brother Harun (peace be upon him) also be granted prophethood to assist him. Allah Almighty accepted this and, by His special mercy, bestowed prophethood upon his brother as a gift to him. Until today, no brother has ever prayed for such a high rank for his brother as Musa (peace be upon him) did, nor has anyone besides Harun (peace be upon him) attained this status through intercession. The mention of Musa (peace be upon him)'s request is found in Surah Ta-Ha (29 to 35), Ash-Shu'ara (12, 13), and Al-Qasas (34, 35).
