Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 44){ يٰۤاَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ الشَّيْطٰنَ … :} The beginning of the third statement is also made with words immersed in love and respect, "Dear father," and in order to forbid and remove him from idol worship, its true picture is drawn in such a way that every intelligent person would abhor it; that is, not only is idol worship devoid of any benefit, but it contains immense harm, because in reality, it is the worship of Satan. See Surah An-Nisa (117), because it is he who incites to it and makes it appear attractive; no one actually worships Satan himself. In {’’ اِنَّ الشَّيْطٰنَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمٰنِ عَصِيًّا ‘‘}, the reason for forbidding the worship of Satan along with {’’ اِنَّ ‘‘} is stated, which is that Satan has always been a severe rebel against your Lord, whose mercy knows no bounds. Obviously, one who obeys such an ungrateful and severe rebel will also be a severe rebel. The meaning of "always" is clarified by {’’ كَانَ ‘‘}.
