Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 43) ➊ In {يٰۤاَبَتِ اِنِّيْ قَدْ جَآءَنِيْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ …: ’’ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ ‘‘}, {’’ مِنْ ‘‘} is for denoting a part, meaning some knowledge. Also, observe their gentleness, wisdom, and beautiful manners. They addressed with the title "dear father," and did not say that you are extremely ignorant and Allah Almighty has granted me the great rank of Siddiqiyyah and Prophethood. Rather, they said that some knowledge has come to me which has not come to you, and that is the knowledge of the straight path. Therefore, do not feel ashamed to follow me in this matter. Surely, you are the father, but consider that you and I are on a journey, I know the way and you do not, so even though you are the father, you will have to follow me so that I can lead you to the correct destination and you do not wander astray on the wrong path. (Zamakhshari)

{اَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا : ’’ سَوِيًّا ‘‘ ’’سَوِيَ يَسْوٰي‘‘} is an adjective on the pattern of {’’فَعِيْلٌ‘‘}, a straight and even path in which there is neither excess, that one worships who is not deserving, nor deficiency, that even the deserving one is not worshipped. (Qasimi)
