Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 34){ ذٰلِكَ عِيْسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ … : ’’ قَوْلَ الْحَقِّ ‘‘} In reality, it was {’’اَلْقَوْلَ الْحَقَّ‘‘}, that is, the statement which is true and right. For brevity, the described has been annexed to the attribute, meaning that the only true statement about Isa (peace be upon him) is what has been stated here in his own words: that he is a servant of Allah and His true messenger, and his lineage is free from every doubt, suspicion, and defect. As for his mother and those Jews who slandered her, and the Christians who declared him to be Lord, their statements are based merely on doubts and suspicions, and there is no trace of truth in them.
