Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 33){ وَ السَّلٰمُ عَلَيَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدْتُّ …:} See also verse (15) of this Surah; there it is {’’ سَلٰمٌ ‘‘} and here it is {’’ السَّلٰمُ ‘‘}, therefore the translation is "special peace." This special peace also includes that distinction which was granted only to ‘Isa (Jesus) عليه السلام and his mother. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: : ۴۵۴۸، عن أبی ھریرۃ رضی اللہ عنہ ] "There is no child except that the Shaytan touches him at the time of his birth, so he cries out loudly because of the Shaytan's touch, except for Maryam and her son." Then Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If you wish, recite this verse: «{ وَ اِنِّیْ اُعِیْذُھَا بِکَ وَ ذُرِّیَّتَھَا مِنَ الشَّیْطٰنِ الرَّجِیْمِ "(That is, the mother of Maryam prayed: O Allah! I seek Your protection for her (Maryam) and her offspring from the accursed Shaytan.)"
