Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 41,40){’’ صَعِيْدًا ‘‘} a plain, {’’ زَلَقًا ‘‘} in which the foot slips. That believer said to his arrogant companion that if you see me as less than yourself in wealth and children, then this is not something everlasting; it is quite possible that my Lord may give me better than your garden in this world or in the Hereafter, and may send a punishment from the sky upon your garden, making its land a barren plain where the foot slips, or its spring from which its river flows may sink deep, and you would not be able to obtain it in any way. See the last verse of Surah Al-Mulk.
