Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 88){قُلْ لَّىِٕنِ اجْتَمَعَتِ الْاِنْسُ وَ الْجِنُّ …:} In this verse, there is a challenge to produce something like the entire Quran; in Surah Hud (13), the challenge is for ten surahs, in Baqarah (23) and Yunus (38) for one surah, and in Surah Tur (34) for even some of its parts. However, the miracle of the Quran is that neither the disbelievers of that time could respond to it, nor will anyone be able to answer it until the Day of Judgment. Here, the jinn have also been included along with humans, because the disbelievers used to accuse that some jinn would inspire him (Muhammad, peace be upon him), and they also considered the jinn to be superior to themselves and knowers of the unseen.
