Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 84) ➊ {قُلْكُلٌّيَّعْمَلُعَلٰىشَاكِلَتِهٖ: ’’ شَاكِلَةٌ ‘‘} The way that is similar and suitable to someone, meaning every person acts upon that way which, from guidance or misguidance, is according to and suitable for him; some are righteous, some are evil, and some are in between. Not all are on one way, nor is it in accordance with Allah’s wisdom to do so, because then the purpose of the test would be lost. See Surah Hud (118, 119).
➋ { فَرَبُّكُمْاَعْلَمُبِمَنْهُوَاَهْدٰىسَبِيْلًا:} That is, every person is pleased with the way upon which he is walking, as He said: «كُلُّحِزْبٍۭبِمَالَدَيْهِمْفَرِحُوْنَ »[ المؤمنون : ۵۳ ] “Every group of people is pleased with what they have.” And every person considers himself to be on the most correct path, but the knowledge of those who are on the most correct path is only with your Lord, Who will judge between His servants regarding all their differences on the Day of Resurrection. See Surah Az-Zumar (46).
