Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
And when We bestow Our Grace on man (the disbeliever), he turns away and becomes arrogant (far away from the Right Path). And when evil touches him, he is in great despair.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
By (Ayah 83){ وَاِذَاۤاَنْعَمْنَاعَلَىالْاِنْسَانِ …:’’ الْاِنْسَانِ ‘‘}, what is meant here is a disbeliever or a sinful person; a true believer is not like this. It is narrated from Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ عَجَبًالِأَمْرِالْمُؤْمِنِ ، إِنَّأَمْرَهُكُلَّهُلَهُخَيْرٌ ، وَلَيْسَذٰلِكَلِأَحَدٍإِلَّالِلْمُؤْمِنِ ، إِنْأَصَابَتْهُسَرَّاءُشَكَرَ،فَكَانَخَيْرًالَّهُ،وَإِنْأَصَابَتْهُضَرَّاءُصَبَرَ،فَكَانَخَيْرًالَّهُ ][ مسلم، الزھد، باب المؤمن أمرہ کلہ خیر : ۲۹۹۹ ] "The affair of the believer is amazing, for all his affairs are good, and this is for no one except the believer. If something good happens to him, he is grateful, and that is good for him; and if something harmful befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him." For further evidence, see Surah Hud (9 to 11) and Surah Ma'arij (19 to 35). From this verse, it is understood that if someone is disloyal and ungrateful despite kindness, the benefactor should not stop doing good. Despite the ingratitude of all disbelievers and sinners, Allah Almighty continues to bestow countless blessings upon them in this world.
