Surah An-Nahl (16) — Ayah 96

مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ ۖ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ بَاقٍ ۗ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿96﴾
Whatever is with you, will be exhausted, and whatever is with Allâh (of good deeds) will remain. And those who are patient, We will certainly pay them a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do.
مَا Whatever

بِأَحْسَنِ bi-aḥsani to (the) best

(Ayah96) ➊ {مَا عِنْدَكُمْ يَنْفَدُ:} Even if it is great in quantity, rather, even if it is the whole world.
{وَ لَنَجْزِيَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ صَبَرُوْۤا … :} When the lam of emphasis and the noon of heavy emphasis come together, they give the effect of an oath-like emphasis. The meaning of sabr (patience) is to bind oneself to something and to restrain oneself, that is, those who remained firm on the truth in the face of worldly greed. Sabr is the best deed, because it is the foundation of all deeds. There are three types of it: to remain steadfast on the commands of Allah and His Messenger and to keep one's nature bound to them is sabr; likewise, to restrain oneself from what Allah has forbidden is sabr; and the third type is to restrain oneself from panic and complaining to Allah at the time of calamity. Allah has sworn that He will reward those who are patient according to their best deeds. By "best deed" is meant sabr, that is, they will be rewarded according to their patience. Another meaning is that We will give them a reward much better than their deeds, which is at least tenfold and at most without measure, as He said: «{ اِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى الصّٰبِرُوْنَ اَجْرَهُمْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ [ الزمر : ۱۰ ] "Only those who are perfectly patient will be given their reward without measure."
