Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

For the explanation of (Ayah 69, 68) {قَالَ اِنَّ هٰۤؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِيْ … : ’’ ضَيْفٌ ‘‘}, see verse (51) of this Surah {’’ فَلَا تَفْضَحُوْنِ ‘‘} and {’’ وَ لَا تُخْزُوْنِ ‘‘} both were {’’ فَلاَ تَفْضَحُوْنِيْ‘‘} and {’’اَ تُخْزُوْنِيْ‘‘}, for the appropriateness at the end of the verses, the ya was omitted and the nun of prevention (nun al-wiqayah) was kept with a kasrah, meaning that excess and disrespect towards a guest is in fact the humiliation and disgrace of the host, so Lut (peace be upon him) tried to prevent them from this evil act in two ways: the first attempt by mentioning the rights of hospitality, and the final attempt by saying {’’وَ اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ‘‘} to warn them of Allah, but to no avail.
