قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ﴿56﴾
[Ibrâhîm (Abraham)] said: "And who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except those who are astray?"
قَالَ qāla He said
وَمَن waman And who
يَقْنَطُ yaqnaṭu despairs
مِن min of
رَّحْمَةِ raḥmati (the) Mercy
رَبِّهِۦٓ rabbihi (of) his Lord
إِلَّا illā except
ٱلضَّآلُّونَ l-ḍālūna those who are astray

(Ayah56){قَالَ وَ مَنْ يَّقْنَطُ مِنْ رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهٖۤ … :} That is, I have merely expressed astonishment upon seeing the general custom of the world and my own old age; otherwise, it is not my intention to express despair from the mercy of Allah Almighty.
