قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ ﴿54﴾
[Ibrâhîm (Abraham)] said: "Do you give me glad tidings (of a son) when old age has overtaken me? Of what then is your news?"
قَالَ qāla He said
أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى abashartumūnī Do you give me glad tidings
عَلَىٰٓ ʿalā Do you give me glad tidings
أَن an although
مَّسَّنِىَ massaniya has overtaken me
ٱلْكِبَرُ l-kibaru old age
فَبِمَ fabima Then about what
تُبَشِّرُونَ tubashirūna you give glad tidings
