سُوْرَةُ الْحِجْرِ
Surah Al-Hijr (15) — Ayah 4
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ ﴿4﴾

And never did We destroy a township but there was a known decree for it.

(Ayah4){ اِلَّا وَ لَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُوْمٌ :} Allah gave them respite until the appointed written time remained, but as soon as the term was completed, they were seized immediately. The purpose of this is to warn the disbelievers of Makkah that the way you have adopted of denying and mocking Our Messenger (peace be upon him), and that We have not yet seized you for it, why have you assumed from this that you will never be seized?
