Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah23){وَ اِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيٖ وَ نُمِيْتُ … :} In this verse, the emphasis is that only Allah Almighty is the owner of life, death, and inheritance {’’ اِنَّ ‘‘}, the lām of emphasis, {’’ نَا ‘‘} first person pronoun, {’’ نَحْنُ ‘‘} first person pronoun, {’’ نُحْيٖ ‘‘} and {’’ نُمِيْتُ ‘‘} are also with the first person pronoun, and at the end again in {’’نَحْنُ الْوٰرِثُوْنَ ‘‘ } with {’’ نَحْنُ ‘‘} and in {’’ الْوٰرِثُوْنَ ‘‘} the predicate is brought with the definite article for exclusivity, reaching the utmost level of emphasis that only Allah is the owner of life and death and only He is the inheritor. No language other than Arabic has the means for such emphasis, and such emphasis is needed because the behavior of the disbelievers shows that they do not accept these three things; otherwise, they would not associate anyone with Allah. The more severe the denial, the greater the emphasis with which the matter is stated. The meaning is that all will perish, and whatever wealth and possessions remain, all of it belongs only to Allah Almighty.
