Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah15){ لَقَالُوْۤااِنَّمَاسُكِّرَتْاَبْصَارُنَا …: ’’ سَكَرَيَسْكُرُسَكْرًا ‘‘} To bind, to restrain, and to close, {’’سَكَرْتُالْبَابَ‘‘} "I closed the door." {’’ سُكِّرَتْ ‘‘} The form of tafeel is for emphasis, meaning they would say that by the force of magic our eyes have been completely closed, therefore, due to being under the effect of magic, whatever we are seeing is merely an illusion, and in reality, they actually did this, thus Allah Almighty said: «{ اِقْتَرَبَتِالسَّاعَةُوَانْشَقَّالْقَمَرُ (1) وَاِنْيَّرَوْااٰيَةًيُّعْرِضُوْاوَيَقُوْلُوْاسِحْرٌمُّسْتَمِرٌّ} »[القمر : ۱، ۲ ] "The Hour has drawn near and the moon has split, and if they see a sign, they turn away and say, 'This is passing magic (or magic that has always existed).'"
