And those who disbelieved, say: "You (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) are not a Messenger." Say: "Sufficient as a witness between me and you is Allâh and those too who have knowledge of the Scripture (such as ‘Abdullâh bin Salâm and other Jews and Christians who embraced Islâm)."

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah43) ➊ Due to the tanween of {لَسْتَ مُرْسَلًا: ’’ مُرْسَلًا ‘‘}, the translation is "any kind of messenger."
{ وَ مَنْ عِنْدَهٗ عِلْمُ الْكِتٰبِ :} refers to the scholars of the Jews and Christians, such as Abdullah bin Salam, Salman al-Farsi, Tamim al-Dari (may Allah be pleased with them), and others among them who believed. The command to refer to the scholars of the People of the Book was given because the polytheists generally referred to them regarding the matter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and their scholars understood well from the descriptions and glad tidings about him that he is a true Messenger, as He said: «{ يَعْرِفُوْنَهٗ كَمَا يَعْرِفُوْنَ اَبْنَآءَهُمْ [ البقرۃ : ۱۴۶] "They recognize him as they recognize their own sons."
