Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah29) {طُوْبٰى لَهُمْ وَ حُسْنُ مَاٰبٍ: ’’ طُوْبٰى ‘‘} In fact, { ’’طَابَ يَطِيْبُ‘‘} (to be good and excellent) is derived from {’’طُيْبٰي‘‘}, the verbal noun on the pattern of {’’بُشْرٰي‘‘ }, meaning happiness, congratulations. {’’ مَاٰبٍ ‘‘ ’’اٰبَ يَؤُوْبُ أَوْبًا‘‘} means to return, and {’’ مَاٰبٍ ‘‘} means the place of return, abode, that is, through the blessing of faith and righteous deeds, the best kind of life is attained and the final abode will also be the best, as He said: «{مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِّنْ ذَكَرٍ اَوْ اُنْثٰى وَ هُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهٗ حَيٰوةً طَيِّبَةً وَ لَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ اَجْرَهُمْ بِاَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ [ النحل : ۹۷ ] "Whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, and he is a believer, then surely We will give him a good life, and surely We will reward them their reward according to the best of what they used to do." In a hadith of Musnad Ahmad narrated from Utbah bin Abd al-Sulami, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also mentioned the name of a tree in Paradise as Tuba.
