Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah20){الَّذِيْنَيُوْفُوْنَبِعَهْدِاللّٰهِ … :} In these verses, Allah Almighty has described some qualities of those who possess intellect. The very first quality among them is fulfilling the covenant of Tawheed made with Allah Almighty, as mentioned in Surah Al-A'raf (172). { ’’ وَلَايَنْقُضُوْنَالْمِيْثَاقَ ‘‘} refers to refraining from breaking any covenant which Allah Almighty has commanded to fulfill. After mentioning the specific covenant, now the general covenant is mentioned. Not like those hypocrites, among whom, whenever one of them makes a covenant, he violates it; when he quarrels, he resorts to foul language; when he speaks, he lies; and when he is entrusted with something, he betrays the trust.
