Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah93){اِذْهَبُوْا بِقَمِيْصِيْ …:} After forgiving his brothers, the household circumstances were mentioned: upon hearing of his father's blindness, he sent his shirt for his treatment and ordered all his family members to come to him in Egypt. This shirt was also remarkable: at one time, it was presented as evidence that Yusuf عليه السلام had been eaten by a wolf and caused his father to become blind; at another time, when Yusuf عليه السلام was accused of intending adultery, it became proof of his innocence; now, by Allah's command, it became the means for Yaqub عليه السلام to regain his sight. All of this is by the power and will of my Master: «{ فَسُبْحٰنَ الَّذِيْ بِيَدِهٖ مَلَكُوْتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَّ اِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ [ یسٓ : ۸۳ ] "So glorified is He in whose hand is the complete dominion of everything, and to Him you will be returned." Shah Abdul Qadir رحمه الله writes: "That is, with Allah there is a cure for every illness; Yaqub عليه السلام lost his eyesight due to separation from one person, and it was restored by receiving something from his body—this was a wondrous grace (karamah) of Yusuf عليه السلام." (Muwadhih) And it is medically proven that intense happiness can strengthen eyesight. (Razi) However, medically, we have no example before us of someone regaining sight from blindness due to happiness, so this should be called a miracle.
