Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah64) ➊ { قَالَهَلْاٰمَنُكُمْعَلَيْهِ …:} He said, when you took Yusuf (peace be upon him) away, you said the same thing—{’’اِنَّالَهٗلَحٰفِظُوْنَ ‘‘}—then you protected him so well that to this day there is no news of that poor soul. So, should I trust your protection regarding him the same way I trusted you before regarding his brother?
➋ { فَاللّٰهُخَيْرٌحٰفِظًا…: } That is, I am sending him with you out of necessity for grain, so I am not entrusting him to your protection, but rather I am entrusting him to Allah’s protection. He, the Most Merciful of the merciful, will protect him with His mercy. Ibn Kathir says that when Yaqub (peace be upon him) sent Yusuf (peace be upon him) with his brothers, he only said: «{ وَاَخَافُاَنْيَّاْكُلَهُالذِّئْبُ } »[ یوسف : ۱۳ ] (And I fear that a wolf may eat him). Now, when he entrusted his brother to Allah’s protection by saying {’’ فَاللّٰهُخَيْرٌحٰفِظًاوَّهُوَاَرْحَمُالرّٰحِمِيْنَ ‘‘}, not only did he get Yusuf’s brother back, but Yusuf (peace be upon him) as well.
