Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 16) ➊ {وَجَآءُوْۤاَبَاهُمْعِشَآءً: } After committing such a great injustice, they did not have the courage to go to their father in the daylight, because during the day the effects on the face, the body's agitation, and the faltering of the tongue reveal everything. That is why they came to their father at the time of 'Isha. Most crimes occur and are concealed under the cover of night, which is why we have all been commanded to say: «{ وَمِنْشَرِّغَاسِقٍاِذَاوَقَبَ }»[ الفلق : ۳ ] "And from the evil of the darkening night when it settles (I seek refuge)." ➋ { يَبْكُوْنَ:} "While weeping"—it is evident that not every weeper is truthful. I have read a scholar's saying that after the brothers of Yusuf (peace be upon him) wept, our trust in those who weep has been lost; Allah knows who is weeping truthfully and who is not. When Hussain's (may Allah be pleased with him) sister Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) saw the people of Kufa weeping and wailing, she asked why they were crying. She was told that these people were crying over the martyrdom of Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions, so she spontaneously said, "If these people are crying over us, then who killed us? (Meaning, was it some creature from outside Kufa? These were the very ones who killed us.)"
