Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 86) ➊ {بَقِيَّتُ اللّٰهِ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ …: } That is, savings and profit obtained in accordance with Allah’s command are in every way better than wealth accumulated through dishonesty. {’’ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ ‘‘} (Provided that you are believers) because even the good deeds of a disbeliever will be of no use to him on the Day of Resurrection. See Surah Al-Kahf (18:105).

{وَ مَاۤ اَنَا عَلَيْكُمْ بِحَفِيْظٍ:} That is, I am not a guardian over you who watches your weighing and measuring at all times, nor is this within my power. Only the Lord Almighty has an eye on every single moment of each person; my duty is only to explain to you and to warn you of Allah’s punishment. Whether you accept or not is your own choice.
