سُوْرَةُ هُوْدٍ
Surah Hud (11) — Ayah 71
وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ قَآئِمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهَا بِإِسْحَـٰقَ وَمِن وَرَآءِ إِسْحَـٰقَ يَعْقُوبَ ﴿71﴾

And his wife was standing (there), and she laughed [either, because the messengers did not eat their food or for being glad for the destruction of the people of Lût (Lot)]. But We gave her glad tidings of Ishâq (Isaac), and after Ishâq, of Ya‘qûb (Jacob).

(Ayah 71) ➊ {وَ امْرَاَتُهٗ قَآىِٕمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ :} His wife Sarah (peace be upon her) was standing by to serve the guests and was frightened. When she heard this, she laughed, either because we thought they were robbers but they turned out to be angels, or out of joy that although we were afraid, the arrival of angels in this manner is not without danger (see Hijr: 8), but instead of bringing punishment upon us, they have brought the good news of punishment for the disobedient people of our dear Prophet Lot (peace be upon him), and surely one rejoices at the news of the destruction of the enemy.
➋ { فَبَشَّرْنٰهَا بِاِسْحٰقَ …:} For Sarah (peace be upon her), one piece of good news was the one mentioned above, at which she laughed spontaneously. The angels gave her two more glad tidings: one, that she would be granted a son, and then from that son, a grandson Jacob would be granted, and included in this was the good news that both husband and wife would live long enough to receive a son, he would grow up, then he would get married, and he would be granted Jacob, as if there were four consecutive glad tidings. All four of these glad tidings were given by the angels, but Allah Almighty said that We gave her these glad tidings, because the angels’ task was only to deliver the message, the real glad tidings were from Allah Almighty, which can never be wrong in any way.
