Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 63) ➊ { قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُ … :} Its explanation has been seen before in the story of Hud (peace be upon him) before these verses. By {’’مِنْهُ رَحْمَةً ‘‘} is meant prophethood.
{ اِنْ عَصَيْتُهٗ:} That is, if I am negligent in conveying His message to you, then who will save me from His grasp?
{غَيْرَ تَخْسِيْرٍ:} That is, if I leave the path of monotheism and adopt the path of polytheism, then not only will you not be able to save me from Allah's punishment, but because of you my crime will increase even more, and Allah Almighty will give me double punishment for knowingly choosing the path of polytheism at your behest. {’’خَسِرَ يَخْسَرُ خُسْرَانًا ‘‘} (A) To suffer loss and { ’’ خَسَّرَ يُخَسِّرُ تَخْسِيْرًا ‘‘ } (Taf'il) To cause loss.
