Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 32){قَالُوْا يٰنُوْحُ قَدْ جٰدَلْتَنَا … :} When they were rendered helpless before the arguments of Noah (peace be upon him), and Noah (peace be upon him) continued for a very long period (950 years. Al-Ankabut: 14), day and night, explaining the oneness of Allah to each individual and to entire gatherings (see Surah Nuh), neither tiring nor losing courage, instead of his people bringing faith or requesting Allah, "O Allah! If what Noah (peace be upon him) says is true, then open our hearts for it," they demanded the coming of Allah's punishment. This is an example of how shirk deprives a person from following reason and the divine nature to such an extent, and also that whether the polytheist is from ancient times or from the Ummah of the last Prophet (peace be upon him), both become equally devoid of reason. See the prayer of Abu Jahl and the polytheists of Makkah to Allah in case the Prophet (peace be upon him) is true, which is mentioned in Surah Al-Anfal (32).
