سُوْرَةُ هُوْدٍ
Surah Hud (11) — Ayah 23
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَأَخْبَتُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ﴿23﴾
Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
Verily, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and humble themselves (in repentance and obedience) before their Lord, they will be dwellers of Paradise to dwell therein forever.

The meaning of {اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ … : ’’ اَخْبَتُوْۤا ‘‘ ’’اِخْبَاتٌ‘‘} is to bow, to be humble, to be content. Jamal (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The meaning of { ’’اَخْبَتَ لَهُ‘‘ } is {’’خَشَعَ وَ خَضَعَ لَهُ ‘‘} that he became humble before Him, and the meaning of { ’’ اَخْبَتَ اِلَيْهِ ‘‘ } is {’’اِطْمَئَنَّ اِلَيْهِ‘‘} that he became content with Him. After mentioning the greatest wrongdoers, that is, the disbelievers and polytheists who fabricate lies against Allah, now the believers are mentioned: those who believed and did righteous deeds and became humble before their Lord and were content with His decree and decision, they will be the owners of Paradise. Some attributes of the people of "ikhbat" have appeared in Surah Al-Hajj (34, 35, 54).
