Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 7) {الَّتِيْتَطَّلِعُعَلَىالْاَفْـِٕدَةِ: ’’ تَطَّلِعُ ‘‘ ’’اِطَّلَعَيَطَّلِعُاِطِّلَاعًا‘‘} (Iftiaal) to peep. {’’ الْاَفْـِٕدَةِ ‘‘ ’’فُؤَادٌ‘‘} is the plural of "fu'ad," heart. "Which peeps into the hearts" means it is conscious; whatever disbelief, hypocrisy, miserliness, or stinginess is in the hearts, or faith, generosity, and kindness, it sees all, and it burns only that which is worthy of being burned. Another meaning is that although the fire of this world burns everything, a person dies before the fire reaches the heart, whereas the fire of Hell will reach the heart while burning the body, but the person will not die. The fire will reach the hearts because the heart is the center of corrupt beliefs, evil intentions, and disbelief and hypocrisy.
