Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 8){ ثُمَّلَتُسْـَٔلُنَّيَوْمَىِٕذٍعَنِالنَّعِيْمِ:} That is, regarding health and well-being, food and drink, and all other blessings, there will be questioning as to how much gratitude was shown for them. From the hadiths, it is understood that there is no pleasure, however small, nor any well-being, however minor, about which there will not be questioning. It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), along with Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), went out of their homes due to hunger and came to the house of an Ansari. He presented dates and goat meat as hospitality. You ate the meat and dates and drank sweet water on top of it. When you were fully satisfied, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ وَالَّذِيْنَفْسِيْبِيَدِهِ! لَتُسْأَلُنَّعَنْهٰذَاالنَّعِيْمِيَوْمَالْقِيَامَةِ ][ مسلم، الأشربۃ، باب جواز استتباعہ غیرہ… : ۲۰۳۸ ] "By Him in Whose hand is my soul! You will be questioned about this blessing on the Day of Resurrection (as well)."
