Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 84){وَ قَالَ مُوْسٰى يٰقَوْمِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ اٰمَنْتُمْ بِاللّٰهِ …:} Despite the miracles of Musa (Moses) (peace be upon him) and his being proven a true prophet, there was no decrease in the oppression of Pharaoh; rather, it increased even more. The Children of Israel complained to Musa (peace be upon him) that even before your coming and after your coming, we have only been harmed. So Musa (peace be upon him) advised them to be patient and to have trust in Allah. See Surah Al-A'raf (128, 129). In the verse under commentary, trust in Allah is declared as a necessary result of faith and Islam, just as in other verses, faith and trust or worship and trust are mentioned together. See Surah Hud (123), Al-Mulk (29), and Al-Fatiha (4).
