Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
No doubt, surely, all that is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allâh. No doubt, surely, Allâh’s Promise is true. But most of them know not.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 55){ اَلَاۤاِنَّلِلّٰهِمَافِيالسَّمٰوٰتِوَالْاَرْضِ … : ’’ اَلَا ‘‘} is a particle of warning, meaning: become aware! Beware! Listen! In the previous verse, it was mentioned that every person who has committed injustice, if everything in the heavens and the earth were in his possession, then on that day he would certainly offer it as ransom to save himself. {’’ لَوْ ‘‘} (if) is used for something impossible, therefore it is stated here: Listen carefully that the owner of everything in the heavens and the earth is Allah Almighty, so from where will the wrongdoer bring a ransom? Again, by saying {’’ اَلَا ‘‘} (listen), it is stated that indeed the promise of Allah Almighty regarding the establishment of the Day of Judgment is absolutely true, but most people do not know. With {’’ اَكْثَرَهُمْ ‘‘ }, the believers are excluded from the deniers of the Day of Judgment, with the indication that they are fewer in number than others. To see how much share anyone else has in the ownership of the earth and the heavens, see Surah Saba (22) and Fatir (13).
