Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 40) ➊ { وَمِنْهُمْمَّنْيُّؤْمِنُبِهٖوَمِنْهُمْمَّنْلَّايُؤْمِنُبِهٖ :} That is, among these disbelievers there are two types of people: some are such who know with certainty that this Quran is the word of Allah and that producing a miraculous composition like it is beyond any human being, yet out of stubbornness they continue to deny it; and some are such who are completely blind in intellect and devoid of understanding, and they do not truly believe that this Quran is the word of Allah. Another translation of this verse could be that among them are some who will believe in it (the Quran), and among them are some who will not believe in it, rather they will remain firm in disbelief. This meaning is also correct.
➋ { وَرَبُّكَاَعْلَمُبِالْمُفْسِدِيْنَ:} Those who, out of unnecessary prejudice and stubbornness, are denying the truth of the Quran, even though in their hearts they are convinced of its truth, or your Lord knows well who among them will persist in disbelief and who will desist from this disbelief. Thus, the meaning of "corrupters" is those who are not Muslims.
