And this Qur’ân is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allâh (Lord of the heavens and the earth), but it is a confirmation of (the revelation) which was before it [i.e. the Taurât (Torah), and the Injeel (Gospel)], and a full explanation of the Book (i.e. laws, decreed for mankind) - wherein there is no doubt - from the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn, and all that exists).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 38,37){وَ مَا كَانَ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنُ … :} After establishing the oneness of Allah and refuting polytheism, the truthfulness of the Noble Qur’an is stated: it is absolutely impossible that this Qur’an could have been produced by anyone other than Allah. Allah revealed it to a person who neither knew how to write nor read, let alone authoring a book. You too are people of the language, great poets and writers, and authors possessing eloquence and rhetoric. If you do not believe that this is the Book of Allah and insist that it is human speech, then all of you—jinn and mankind—should help one another and try to produce a book like it. See Surah Bani Isra’il (88). When they could not do this, Allah challenged them to produce ten surahs. See Surah Hud (13). When they could not do this either, here in the Makkan Surah Yunus, the challenge was to bring a single surah like it, and then in Madinah, the same challenge was repeated in Surah al-Baqarah (23). Readers may refer to all these places; to this day, no polytheist or disbeliever has been able to produce even a surah of three verses equal to Surah al-Kawthar, which any person of the language or person of intellect has accepted. {’’ وَ لٰكِنْ تَصْدِيْقَ الَّذِيْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ‘‘} Allah has described the Qur’an as a book that confirms all previous heavenly books and contains, from the Lord of all worlds, the details of all necessary beliefs and actions for mankind.
